Salaam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

Eid-ul-Fitr will be tomorrow Monday 25th May, 2020.

After consulting with Sayed Derhamy and Sayed Al Moddarassi, it has been decided that there won’t be any Eid Salaat this year. Furthermore, as New Zealand is still at Alert Level 2, Hussainiya will remain closed until further notice.

The Fitra amount for this year is $10 per person. Please transfer your Fitra to the following account:
Account Name: IAFONZ
Account Number: 02-0224-0314922-12
Reference: Fitra and please specify Syed or Non-Syed

A gentle reminder that the ring auction will end tonight and the winner with the highest bid will be announced in the last Ramadan Nights program tonight at 8:00pm. The highest bid so far is $500.
To place a bid, please private message our IAFONZ number on +64 22 499 7717.

From the entire team at the Islamic Ahlulbayt Foundation of New Zealand, we would like to wish all our community members a very happy and blessed Eid-ul-Fitr.

21st March, 2020

Salaam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

We hope all our community members are doing well during these difficult times that are upon us. As per our previous email, we would like to inform everyone that Hussainiya will now remain closed until further notice.

However, some good news is that we are fortunate to have our respected Sayed Mohammed Al-Modarresi who will be recording lectures for us to watch from our homes and benefit from.

Please view the first online lecture by Sayed Modarresi on the occasion of Shahadat of Imam Musa Al Kazim (a.s.) here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvJvDIcQMUM&feature=youtu.be

In this lecture titled ‘Our Faith in the Time of Coronavirus’, Sayed Modarresi discusses how we should behave during this time as well as how to utilize self-isolation as an opportunity to become closer to Allah swt. He also discusses the lessons to be learnt from the life of Imam Musa Al Kazim (a.s.)

This is a lecture not to be missed. We encourage you all to take some time out tonight and watch this lecture as a family to gain a better understanding of how we can respond to Covid-19 as Muslims of New Zealand.

JazakAllah Khayran,
Shukria Sohrabi

This means there will be no Friday prayers on March 20th and 27th. If you have questions or enquiries please contact Sayed Derhamy directly on 098496672.

We would like to remind our community members to stay safe during this time by practicing proper hygiene and staying away from large gatherings. Please refer to the poster below for more information.
